The 3 things every AR15 needs to have. No more naked guns without the basic equipment. Every rifle should have the following three things as a minimum in your gun safe.

Did You just get your first AR15? Or maybe you built your 100th? Either way, congratulations on protecting your freedom, family and rights. Now before you get all excited and put this new gun into the safe until the next range day, you need to add a few critical items. It’s time you sit down and order the following items. They are critically important to your success. Here are are the top three items you must have to make sure your rifle is ready for action.

Slings- Why you need a two point sling.

If you pick up the rifle and need it for a real emergency or just a day at the gun range, you always need a sling. Now, you don’t need a silly single point sling or a $110 adjustable sling that looks like it was never meant to get dirty. You need a simple sling that works every time you need it and can fit to your size (no judging).

Our top choice for a solid, comfortable sling is the BluCollarTactical Patriot Model sling. This sling is 100% USA made and comes in three color options. The colors currently available are black, OD Green and Coyote Brown.

If you spent any time in the military you know the style of sling I’m talking about. It’s quite similar to the standard M4 Issued sling however, the folks at BluCollarTactical upgraded the nylon material and made some adjustments.

The standard M4 issue used to be a cheap 1” nylon webbing material with sharp edges. BlucollarTactical saw the need for a more comfortable sling and went with 1.25” wide flat tubular webbing. Because of it being a flat double ply webbing it has no sharp edges and is made of much higher quality material than standard issue sling. The rifle sling has four adjusters added on the sling for a perfect fit and you can tuck away any extra webbing. Not only is this sling super comfortable the folks at BluCollarTactical make it all in the USA. They are a small brand that started selling online in 2017 and have continued to be one of the top selling USA made rifle slings for the past few years. The standard sling from BluCollarTactical is priced under $20, a fraction of the fancy competitors on the market. The best thing about this price is you can afford to buy one for every rifle you own and still have some money for ammo.

I have used this sling and own a handful of them. In my mind they are the best slings because there is really nothing to ever give you problems. A few of my AR15’s have them now and they are always ready to go at a moments notice and I can always have faith in the slings working flawless. Go buy yourself a BLUCollarTactical Patriot Sling today.

Optics- See The Target With This Budget Friendly Optic.

Now that you’ve got the sling to hold your rifle what happens when you look down those standard stock iron sights? You need something with a crisp clear reticle that can withstand the abuse you will put it through. This is when you need to get yourself a Holosun510C Reflex sight. I’m a huge fan of this optic coming in almost half the cost of the other big brands in the industry. Like the BluCollarTactical sling, this Holosun Optic is extremely tough and has an amazing fail safe feature I’ll talk about next.

First off the battery life is unto 50,000 hours! That’s crazy, but what happens if the battery does die? It has a solar failsafe! Seriously, this has a little solar panel on the back of it and will illuminate the red dot.

The Brightness goes from very dim, almost invisible to the human eye to extremely bright. This optic has a full range selection for what ever you need, or light conditions exist. FYI they do make it with a green dot if you want that, but it’s a little more expensive. The green reticle is about $30 more and can be found only in the the Holosun 510C-Gr model.

These are just a couple of the reasons that I liked the 510C. I have owned two of them for the past three years and currently have them mounted on my AR15 with a 16” barrel and a AR15 Pistol with a 10.5” barrel. I’ve had no issues with mine and can recommend them to you knowing that they have never let me down.

Trigger – Simple Upgrade That Gets Overlooked.

The standard Mil-Spec triggers are fine if your just needing a trigger and don’t care about accuracy. If you’ve shot a AR rifle with a standard trigger and then you immediately shoot one with an upgraded trigger, you’ll instantly realize what you’ve been missing.

You know that you need to be the best shooter when you’re practicing with your friends and family. No one wants to be the person who gets out shot by his or her friends and kids. To save you that embarrassment again, you need to consider upgrading your trigger.

The trigger I recommend if you’re on a budget or trying to not make the wife upset is the Larue MBT Triggers. At the time of this article they are priced at $118 and you can choose a single stage or two stage.

When I first ordered one of these I was very skeptical that it would not be worth the money. I’ve always spent $250+ on my triggers and kind of expected the MBT to be garbage. I was wrong, Dead wrong! This budget trigger is so smooth and has a crisp break! You’ll be delighted, if you don’t believe me just look around the internet, you’ll see lots of reviews and they are all just as good as I’m describing it for you.

Get It All Together In The Best Package-
Alright, now you’ve got the sling, optic and trigger. It’s time you take the AR15 out and get some practice in. Remember, be safe and always practice safe firearm operations and know your target and beyond. Stay safe and God Bless Ya’ll!
